Language Solutions for a Leading Life Insurance Company Reduced Turnaround time by 70%

About the Client

One of India's largest life insurers came to us with a fairly big problem. They serve millions of people across the country, and most of their communication is digital. Because they work in a highly regulated space, every single word they publish has to be correct, consistent, and audit-ready. That's already a challenge in one language, let alone many.

The Challenge

The task was simple to describe but hard to execute: make sure policy documents and the full customer-facing website were available in several Indian languages. The volume was massive — more than a million words once you added everything up. That included legal disclaimers, brochures, riders, and customer-friendly explanations.

The company's teams had been handling translations manually, but deadlines were tight, and accuracy was slipping. In insurance, even a small mistake can have consequences, so the old approach wasn't going to hold up. They needed a way to scale without losing control.

The Solution

We worked with them to set up something more reliable. Instead of pushing everything through manual translation, we built a system that mixed automation with human review.

First, we created a secure base of knowledge using the client's own material. That way, the translation models had a sense of the terminology they used every day. The automated system could then process large amounts of text, while subject experts stepped in to fine-tune the results.

The workflow itself became simpler. Content could be uploaded securely in bulk, review happened in real time, and updates to the website flowed through automatically with checks along the way. It wasn't about replacing people; it was about making the process manageable at the scale they needed.

The Impact

In the end, what had seemed like an impossible backlog started to move quickly. Over four weeks, more than 1.2 million words were translated into seven languages. Work that would normally stretch on for months was finished in a fraction of the time.

The gains showed up in a few ways. The time to produce translations dropped by around seventy percent. Because the drafts were stronger from the start, the back-and-forth on reviews was cut almost in half. On the customer side, traffic to the multilingual website went up, and support queries in regional languages were resolved faster. Altogether, engagement rose by about a third.

Just as important, there were no compliance issues and no security incidents. Everything stayed within the industry's strict standards.

Outcome

The company ended up with more than just translated material. They now had a way to publish in more than one language that didn't place any more stress on their personnel. What began as a problem with translation developed into a better method to operate and a better experience for customers.
