Union Education Minister launches AICTE prescribed books in regional languages, NEAT 3.0

[:en]Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched NEAT 3.0 to provide the best-developed ed-tech solutions and courses on a single platform. Alongside this, he also launched the regional language textbooks prescribed by AICTE.

How NEAT helped the economically disadvantaged

He remarked NEAT will play a game-changing role in bridging the digital divide, particularly amongst economically disadvantaged students, while also fulfilling the knowledge-based requirements of India and the world.

Dharmendra Pradhan further remarked that NEAT has 58 global ed-tech startup companies which are offering 100 courses and e-resources to enhance learning outcomes, developing employable skills while overcoming learning loss.

NEAT for skill development and minimising learning loss

He further termed the e-content along with resources, and digital frameworks like NEAT as a step in the right direction for minimising learning loss.

The Union Education Minister also encouraged the AICTE to integrate courses available in NEAT to tap the opportunities in emerging areas of skilling and boost employability.

Message to ed-tech companies

Complimenting the global ed-tech companies and Indian start-ups that are a part of NEAT 3.0 while welcoming all ed-tech companies to work with a collaborative approach to making education accessible and affordable.

He also further added that ed-tech companies must remember ed-techs must remember that there is no place for monopoly and exploitation.

Gift to the student community

Enumerating the benefits received by the economically disadvantaged, the Education Minister remarked that more than 12 lakh socially and economically disadvantaged students have received free ed-tech course coupons worth over Rs 253 crore under NEAT 3.0.

Remarking on it further, he said, “This is one of the biggest gifts to the student community from Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the new year 2022.”

Dharmendra Pradhan further said India will be leading the global economy in the 21st century while being the most preferred market for trade and economy.

Education in native languages is key to innovation

While commenting on technical books in regional languages, the Union Education Minister said that India’s diverse languages are its strength and harnessing them is a key for building an innovative society.
He remarked that education in regional languages will further help in developing critical thinking capacity and “enable our youth to become global citizens”.
